Residents opposed to a planned construction and demolition debris landfill in Clayton County, Ga., have voiced their opinions at a final public hearing before the state Environmental Protection Division makes their decision on the permit, according to a report in the News Daily (Jonesboro, Ga.).
The project proposed by Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Stephens MDS has been up for consideration for more than two years, according to the report.
The Daily News reports that some residents have expressed concerns over the proposed landfill’s proximity to schools and nearby creeks.
