REMU launches new Big Float E35

Its new Big Float E35 pontoon undercarriage, which can transform a standard excavator into an amphibious excavator, is the largest model ever manufactured by the company.

REMU, Ahtari, Finland, announced it has launched its new Big Float E35 pontoon undercarriage, which is the largest model ever manufactured by the company.

Big Float, which has been manufactured in Finland since 2004, is a tracked pontoon undercarriage that can transform a standard excavator into an amphibious excavator. REMU manufactures four sizes of undercarriages for excavators between 8 to 35 tons.

According to the company, the new E35 can be assembled with most 30 to 35 ton excavators available on the market and offers all the benefits that come with a larger excavator: more power, longer outreach, higher volume with each bucket load, and higher productivity.

The company says every Big Float is designed with strict attention to safety details. E35’s lower section is entirely made of high-strength wear-resistant steel for protection against external stress and impacts. Each pontoon also has five watertight sections with manhole access placed on top of the pontoon. The most important safety feature is the engineered shape and measurement of the undercarriage, maximizing its stability in various job environments.

Furthermore, E35 travel motors, paired with planetary final drives, deliver high torque through drive sprockets directly to track chains. Similar to standard crawler excavators, a durable track system enhances the life of wear parts, the company says.
