Recycled Materials Co. (RMC) of Irvine, Calif., has launched an online contest at www.RecycleElToro.com beginning Friday, Feb. 2, 2007.
The game offers cash prizes and personal recognition to the person who can “name that stone.” The winner will submit the most creative name for the large concrete landscape stone resulting from El Toro Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) runways, which will be broken down and reused in many areas of the El Toro redevelopment.
The contest begins Feb. 2 and ends March 2. The winner will be announced April 2 at www.RecycleElToro.com.
Following the announcement of the “Name That Stone” contest winner, www.RecycleElToro.com will serve as an information source regarding the progress and process of recycling the runways, taxiways, streets and building foundations at El Toro MCAS. RMC of California will remove and recycle 3.5 million tons of concrete and asphalt to be reused onsite. The process may take up to eight years to complete.
