R.W. Beck to Conduct Recycling Study in Arkansas

Study will explore possibility for C&D recycling program, commercial collection.

The City Council of Fayetteville, Ark., will consider approving a contract with R.W. Beck to provide a study that will focus on recycling, according to a report in the Northwest Arkansas Times (Fayetteville, Ark.).

The study will focus on the current residential drop-off recycling collection and processing system, as well as options for commercial and multi-family building programs and a construction and demolition recycling program.

The study is expected to take about seven months, and will evaluate the current drop-off system to determine participation. It will also develop a cost-model for an on-site apartment program, including collection costs, processing costs and participation.

The study will also examine possibilities for a C&D recycling program by estimating the amount and make-up of C&D debris in the city.
