Some Mobile County, Ala., residents have voiced concerns over a proposed construction and demolition debris landfill, according to a report in the Press-Register (Mobile, Ala.).
The proposed landfill would be built on the 59-acre L&J Dirt Inc. pit at the southwest corner of Lott and Greaves roads, about a mile west of Prichard, Ala. The owner of the land needs permission from the Mobile County Commission before the state Department of Environmental Management will consider his application.
Some residents who attended a public hearing on the matter voiced concerns over increased truck traffic as a safety hazard if the facility is built, according to the report.
