Prince Edward Island Moves to Ban C&D Sites

New legislation would ban creation of new C&D landfills.

 

Jamie Ballem, environment minister of Prince Edward Island, Canada, has introduced legislation that would ban the creation of new construction and demolition dump sites, according to online news reports on CBC Prince Edward Island. (Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island)

 

If approved, the changes to the province’s Environmental Protection Act would ban applications for new sites but would have no effect on the six C&D sites currently operating, according to the report.
