Morbark Inc., Winn, Mich., long known for its line of tub grinders and horizontal grinders, is now offering a slow-speed, high-torque shredder known as the Predator.
The Predator is designed as a primary shredder of mixed C&D (construction and demolition) materials.
The 64-inch by 76-inch shredder opening accepts has 15-inch counter-meshing rotors with hooked star shredders mounted in a spiral pattern. The Predator delivers 950,000 inch pounds of torque to each rotor, according to a Morbark news release.
The electronically auto-reverse rotor system allows each rotor to reverse independently if necessary.
The 44,000-pound machine is equipped with a 48-inch-wide continuous discharge conveyor and a cross belt magnet to capture the ferrous portion of the material stream.
The Predator is also designed with a roll-off hook and cable system for easy on-and-off loading. The remote control operated machine can be equipped with one of several engines ranging from 335 to 455 hp.
