Plans to expand a construction and demolition debris disposal facility in Adams County, Miss., have been dropped, according to a report in the Natchez Democrat (Natchez, Miss.).
Two proposals were made by the Adams County Board of Supervisors, which would have allowed the county port to accept a greater volume of wood debris and permitted the Triad dump site to accept a restricted type of debris from all over Mississippi, according to the report.
The Triad site currently accepts construction debris, wood and concrete from only several surrounding counties. The expansion plan would have allowed debris from hurricane Katrina ravaged areas to be disposed or burned in Adams County.
