Peterson Pacific (Peterson), Eugene, Ore., has obtained U.S. patent number 6,910,47 for the company’s side-removal screen system used on the Peterson 1410, 4700B and 6700B families of recyclers.
The patent and claims cover the system that permits side removal and a simplified method of tightening the screen supports from outside the machine.
Neil Peterson, company president, and Pete Alford, project engineer, are the inventors of the system.
The screen removal system reduces the time and complexity of changing screens, according to a release from a company. Working at ground level, operators can readily change screens to suit the sizing requirements of each product.
“We estimate that the time savings for a screen change is 30 minutes,” says Neil.
Peterson has been manufacturing wood processing and recycling equipment since 1982.
