Peterson Introduces Mulch Coloring System

Equipment company adds to its grinding system.

Peterson Corp., which has available the horizontal recyclers, which lead the market in mulch production, is now introducing a dry coloring system to make grinding and coloring in a single pass both easy and economical.

The Peterson grinding system features an up-turning rotor, three-stage fragmentation, and multiple interchangeable grates that combine to produce high quality finished mulch, often with single pass grinding.

The overall savings over separate grinding and coloring machines is considerable. Very little water is required, resulting in drying times of as little as 10 minutes, as well as reduced weight of the product. Dry colorant is environmentally friendly, as the dry coloring process minimizes runoff.

Unique to the Peterson system is a hydraulic lift that lowers the hopper for transport and refilling, and raises to operating position. The 5,000-pound capacity hopper is rugged enough for demanding materials, making the system capable of processing tough applications such as scrap wood and logs.

The full-width hopper and precise hydraulic metering system ensure uniformly colored mulch. The system is self-contained with no external power requirements. The only external connection is a garden hose with normal tap water pressure.

Peterson specializes in developing delivery and processing equipment that turns low-grade organic materials into high value products. Peterson machines are operating in over 20 countries in the world. For more details see www.petersoncorp.com.
