Pallet Recycler Expanding Operations

State of Pennsylvania provides financial assistance to American Fibertech.

Pennsylvania’s Governor Edward Rendell has announced the state is supporting three companies in the state, including American Fibertech, a pallet recycling company.

Assistance came from the Governor’s Action Team. GAT is comprised of economic development officer who work directly with businesses either presently operating or looking to build in the state.

American Fibertech Corp., which does business under the Industrial Pallet Corp. name, purchased a warehouse in Greencastle, PA, and installed the latest technology equipment to start a pallet recycling operation on the I-81 corridor. The Greencastle facility houses production and office functions totaling about 50,000 square feet.

The Department of Community and Economic Development, through GAT, offered American Fibertech a $576,000 financial package to locate its new manufacturing facility in Franklin County. The company is also eligible to apply for a $1,275,000 loan through the Citizens Job Bank Program, which offers low-interest-rate loans to companies that commit to creating or expanding jobs in Pennsylvania. AFC's investment in the project is currently over $3.3 million.

GAT is comprised of economic-development professionals reporting directly to Governor Rendell, and serves as a single point-of-contact for businesses considering locating or expanding in Pennsylvania. The team works with domestic and international businesses and professional site consultants on projects possessing significant investment and job creation opportunities.
