P. Flanigan & Sons Inc., a Baltimore-based heavy construction and infrastructure builder, has received the Diamand Achievement Commendation (DAC) for its Monroe Street plant from the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), Lanham, Md. The DAC award recognizes companies with responsible hot-mix asphalt (HMA) operation practices and effective community relations.
“The Diamond Achievement Commendation is an honor in which a company and a community can take great pride,” says NAPA Chairman James E. Weeks. “It clearly demonstrates a corporate commitment to excellence with a community focus.”
To be considered for the award, P. Flanigan & Sons was evaluated on six essential facets of the HMA plant/site: appearance, operations, environmental practices, safety, permitting and regulatory compliance and community relations.
“We are honored to receive this commendation,” says Pierce Flanigan IV, president of P. Flanigan & Sons. “As a company we work hard to not only maintain the facility and stay at the forefront of best practices in the infrastructure industry, but also to support the community in the neighborhoods where we work.”
