Orinda, Calif., City Hall Seeks Green Certification

City Hall aims to be the first city hall in the state to earn Gold-level LEED certification.

 

 

The new City Hall in Orinda, Calif., hopes to be the first city hall in the state to be awarded Gold-level Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

 

Siegel & Strain was selected as the designer in 2004. The structure is 14,000 square feet and includes a number of green building features, including natural ventilation, bathroom partitions made from recycled yogurt containers and waterless urinals.
