The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is seeking comments from the public on a proposal to renew the existing solid waste disposal site permit for the city of Union’s transfer station, located in Union, Ore. During the comment period the public is invited to make comments related to specific conditions within the proposed permit.
The facility is located in Union, Ore.

The permit only allows for the temporary storage of solid waste and recyclables at the site. All solid waste is required to be removed from the site and disposed of at a DEQ-permitted solid waste disposal site on a periodic basis. Recyclables must be neatly stored and then transported to consolidation facilities or directly to recycling markets.
Next to the transfer station are recycling containers that allows an increased opportunity to recycle for those who reside in and around the City of Union.
