The state of Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality is seeking written comments on a proposed construction and demolition landfill in Klamath Falls, Ore. The applicant is the Klamath County Community Development Department. In addition to operating one landfill, Klamath County operates seven transfer stations.
The permit sought will allow for the disposal of C&D waste, as well as bulky furniture. The landfill also can continue to manage and dispose of petroleum-contaminated soil and asbestos containing materials. The permit’s expiration date is 10 years after the date of issuance. All written comments must be delivered by Dec. 21, 2005.
