The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is seeking comments on a proposed MRF being built by Tualatin Valley Waste Recovery, Inc., a subsidiary of Waste Management. The company is seeking a permit for the operation. The company, presently being built in Hillsboro, Ore., will accept a range of recyclables, including wood, concrete, asphalt, metal, yard waste, glass and electronics.
The DEQ will hold a public hearing concerning the permit on June 3. DEQ invites oral or written public comments at this hearing. Written comments will also be accepted until June 8, 2009.
