Oregon DEQ Requesting Comments

Company is seeking to open a new C&D recycling facility in Eugene.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is calling for written comments on a proposed material recovery facility that is slated to be located in Eugene, Ore. The applicant for the project is McKenzie Recycling Inc.

 

McKenzie is proposing to close its existing facility when a new permit is issued for its new location. Both facilities are located in Eugene.

 

McKenzie is requesting a special use permit for the new facility, which will receive, process and sort for recycling, commercial loads of solid waste, consisting primarily of materials generated through the construction and demolition industry. The facility will separate the materials for composting, recycling and recovery purposes.

 

Any residual material will be transported to a permitted landfill.
