North Carolina County Officials Reject C&D Landfill Plan

Onslow County commissioners vote down proposal to build new C&D landfill.

Onslow County (North Carolina) commissioners have decided there is insufficient public interest in building a new construction and demolition debris landfill in the county, according to a report in the Jacksonville Daily News (Jacksonville, N.C.).

 

The 3-2 vote to reject the plan effectively puts a stop to Morton Minerals’ plans to build a C&D landfill. However, the company plans to resubmit the proposal in the future, according to the report.
