Capacity of Shotwell Landfill in Wendell County, N.C., increased from 1 million cubic yards to 9 million.

 

A construction debris landfill in Wendell County, N.C., has been permitted to expand, according to a report in the News & Observer (Raleigh, N.C.).

 

The Shotwell Landfill had been limited to 1 million cubic yards of construction and demolition debris. According to the report, the county commissioners have approved changes allowing the landfill’s capacity to expand to 9 million cubic yards.

 

The expansion was approved by a 4-3 vote.
