North Carolina Concrete Recycler Denied Permit

A Charlotte, N.C., concrete recycling company has been denied a permit to move the operation to Pineville, N.C., according to a report in the Charlotte Observer (Charlotte, N.C.).

Jim Smith, owner of Red Clay Industries, had purchased property in the town with plans to relocate. However, the company was denied the conditional use permit it needed to operate at the proposed location in Pineville, according to the report.

Red Clay crushes concrete and asphalt from demolition projects. The crushed material is used as base for paving projects.
