North Carolina Concrete Plant Questioned

Plans to build a concrete mixing plant in Locus, N.C., still not finalized.

Members of the city council of Locus, N.C., are considering a local developer’s plans to build a concrete plant in the city, according to a report in the Stanley News & Press (Albemarle, N.C).

According to the report, the business Hard Roc Concrete has submitted a proposal to build 63-foot silos and is seeking a conditional use permit to build and operate a concrete mixing plant.

The city council’s main concerns are dust control and the impact the proposed facility could have on the cleanliness of the surrounding area.
