State DEC extends public comment period for proposed C&D recycling operation in Coeymans, N.Y.

The New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has extended the public comment period on a proposal to use a former brick plant for recycling construction and demolition debris in Coeymans, N.Y., according to a report in the Times Union (Albany, N.Y.).

P&M Brick, a subsidiary of Carver Construction, Altamont, N.Y., is seeking a DEC permit for a C&D recycling facility. According to the report, the proposed facility would accept debris delivered by barge and trucks. As many as 50 trucks per day and four barges per week could bring up to 1,000 tons of debris per day.
