A New York state man pleaded guilty in Fallsburg, New York, Town Court to illegally dumping construction and demolition (C&D) debris in Hurleyville, New York, and faces a $1,000 fine, a report by the Times Herald-Record says. Peter Fasce of Poughkeepsie admitted to illegally dumping more than 70 cubic yards of C&D debris.
Neither the firms nor the property owner were charged in the case, the report says. Two dump truck drivers, Alberto Santiago and Michael Whitley, were charged on May 15, 2016. They are scheduled to appear in Fallsburg Town Court Sept. 4.
Fasce also allegedly used the debris to fill in protected wetlands, the report says. He started the dumping in 2015 and continued through March and April 2016. Fasce arranged for trucking firms to deliver C&D debris, including tiles, metal, drywall, Styrofoam and lumber, to a site in Hurleyville. The trucking companies were supposed to haul clean fill.
