New N.C. Transfer Station Includes C&D Debris

A new recycling center/transfer station has opened in Polk County, N.C., according to a report in the Tryon Daily Bulletin (Tryon, N.C.).

Unlike the county’s old facility, the new station has capacity for construction and demolition debris.

According to the report, with the new facility working, the county will no longer have to bury C&D material. As a result, it can begin to close the old C&D landfill—a process that is expected to take six months.
