An attempted building demolition in South Brunswick, New Jersey, was stopped by police after the contractor on the job was found trying to pull down the dilapidated wooden structure via a rope tied to his pickup truck, News 12 New Jersey reports.
While the property owner reportedly had the proper permits to demolish the building, the contractor that was hired took improper methods for bringing down the structure.
When questioned by police, the contractor said he used the subsequent method of demolition in an attempt to salvage the wood of the structure.
Although a portion of the structure was brought down via the truck, a substantial amount of dust was dispersed throughout the neighborhood in the process, which prompted surrounding citizens to call the police.
The police issued a stop-work order upon arrival, and the property owner said she would hire a qualified contractor to finish the project.
