The city planning board of Belmont, N.H., has approved a proposal to build a 64,000-square-foot processing station for construction and demolition debris, according to a report in the Concord Monitor (Concord, N.H.)
The facility was proposed by the company that collects the town’s curbside material, BBI Waste Industries, Old Orchard Beach, Maine, better known as Bestway Disposal in New Hampshire. The company plans to build a public drop-off recycling center on the site, as well as an office building and garage, according to the paper.
The Concord Monitor reports that the facility will not chip or burn debris on site, but will sort material and send it to a recycling center or landfill.
