The Northeast Recycling Council (NERC) has announced that it will hold its annual spring convention March 22-23, 2005, in Northampton, Mass.
Bill Heenan, president of the Steel Recycling Institute, will give the keynote address on March 22. He will speak on trade associations and their effect on the recycled materials market.
A panel discussion on trade associations will follow Heenan’s address. Joining the panel will be Fran McPoland, representing the Paper Recycling Coalition, Alan Ratner, president of Metal Management Northeast and ISRI member, and Steve Navedo, vice chair of the Association of Post-Consumer Plastics Recyclers.
The second day of the program includes keynote speeches by Natalie Starr of DSM Environmental Services and David Nightingale, an environmental engineer with the Washington State Department of Ecology.
The program also features sessions on developing cost-effective business recycling programs and paint recycling programs.
