The Nebraska Recycling Council (NRC), based in Lincoln, Nebraska, is hiring an operations and communications director (OC), responsible for the daily and ongoing operations of the association.
The newly hired staff member will report to its executive director and will have responsibilities entailing membership program recruitment and management and events coordination.
“The OC has responsibility for a wide range of matters supporting the essential ongoing operations of NRC, including but not limited to internal functions such as administrative activities and office management, operational policies and procedures, compliance and financial reporting obligations, invoice and payment processing, contract management and administration, membership program management (database, programs, and events), event coordination, communications and marketing management,” the NRC says.
In the same email announcing the open position, current OC Allison Majerus says she has accepted a position at Omaha, Nebraska-based engineering and consulting firm HDR after having worked for the NRC since 2020.
“It’s not easy to leave NRC, but I am excited for this opportunity to learn, be challenged, and contribute to the solid waste management industry,” Majerus says.
NRC, which says its mission is to “maximize the economic and environmental benefits of resource recovery in Nebraska,” is accepting cover letters, resumes and references that can be emailed to Executive Director Kimberly Carroll Steward at director@nrcne.org.
