The National Demolition Association (NDA) sent a request for personal protective equipment (PPE) donation to its members on behalf of the University of Washington Medicine health system on March 21. University of Washington Medicine, Seattle, is comprised of four hospitals and a clinic network of at least 100 primary, urgent and specialty clinic locations around the greater Puget Sound region. The region, which has been one of the most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S., has seen a shortage of PPE for its healthcare workers.
University of Washington Medicine has requested the donation of the following PPE to protect healthcare workers:
- N95 respirators (all sizes),
- Tyvek suits (all sizes),
- Nitrile gloves (all sizes),
- Clear plastic face shields to cover N95, and
- Half-face respirators and N100 /or P100 cartridges (all sizes).
In the NDA’s statement to members, the association states, “While we know there is a shortage of supplies, members’ unused PPE can translate to a healthcare setting. Please consider reaching out to the hardest-hit areas of the U.S. first, but also your local health systems to see what you can provide.”
To donate or sell the aforementioned PPE, members can email supplychain@valleymed.org.
