NDA Convention: Passeno Thanks Attendees, Urges Participation

Association president also touts Web site upgrade and high-reach safety document

National Demolition Association president Ray Passeno, who also is a vice president with Bielein Companies Inc., Midland, Mich., thanked attendees of the association’s 2010 Annual Convention for their attendance “despite harsh economic times.”

In his welcoming address at the convention, Passeno also provided an overview of the association’s activities and upcoming plans.

He noted that the National Demolition Association board and executive committee remain involved in a strategic planning process designed “to take us five to 10 years into the future.”

The strategic planning process has identified several key goals that the board and its committees are already addressing, said Passeno, including leadership development, enhancing membership value and communicating the National Demolition Association message.

The association has also undertaken significant upgrades to its Web site (www.demolitionassociatoin.com), and Passeno urged attendees to explore the site to see the amount of information now found there.

Passeno also praised the Safety Committee for its role in producing a “High Reach Demolition Machine Guidance Document” that ideally is positioned to be adopted by safety and operations standardization organizations.

Passeno ended his remarks by urging National Demolition Association member companies and employees to get involved. “What I really want to tell you is how much we need you,” stated Passeno.

The National Demolition Association 2010 Annual Convention took place at The Mirage in Las Vegas March 20-23.
