More than 1,100 attendees and 84 exhibitors gathered in Nashville, Tennessee, March 21-24, at the Gaylord Opryland Resort for the National Demolition Association’s (NDA’s) 42nd annual convention and expo, Demolition 2015. The NDA underwent major changes in management in 2014 and the positive response to its first big event under new direction, Demolition 2015, has been overwhelming, according to the District of Columbia-based organization.“It was great to see the turn out and support of the NDA membership at Demolition 2015,” says Peter Banks, CEI Boston LLC, Norfolk, Massachusetts, who took over as NDA board president during the event. “Everything from the education session to the expansive expo demonstrated the progress of the demolition industry and our contribution to the profession.”
Demolition 2015 highlighted NDA’s strong focus on industry education, which was reflected in the convention program. The educational offerings provided an in-depth look at the demolition industry’s most pressing topics, including safety and health standards; environmental requirements and opportunities; workforce issues and management; and government project management.
The new addition of Fast & Furious education sessions proved to be standing room only events, compacting lessons from industry thought leaders into 15-minute presentations that fit the pace of the convention. The expo at Demolition 2015 was a major draw for attendees, according to conference officials. The expo saw high traffic each of the conference’s three days, with attendees given the opportunity to test new products and advancements in technology.
Attendees also had the chance to meet in person the new NDA leadership while on-site in Nashville. With Demolition 2015 behind them, the NDA team says it is focused on planning Demolition 2016 and continuing the success of the premier industry meeting.
“We were extremely excited about the success of Demolition 2015. We now look toward to the future and identifying ways to make the annual convention even more valuable for our attendees,” says Cheryl Caulfield, NDA executive director.
Demolition 2016 will take place in Orlando, Florida, March 14-17, 2016.
