The National Demolition Association (NDA) released a resource guide March 13 to help member companies deal with the ramifications of the COVID-19 pandemic. This resource guide, which was compiled by the association’s human resources partner, Affinity HR, is meant to help organizations with their preparedness, policies and procedures.
The guide offers advice such as:
- How to handle paid time off policies for salaried and hourly workforces
- Creative ideas for paid time off sharing
- Salary allowances and practical work from home ideas
- Legal considerations for individual illness or work stoppage
- A variety of sample policies companies can copy and paste
The guide can be accessed online. Those with questions are encouraged to contact Claudia St. John, president of Affinity HR, at claudia@affinityhrgroup.com or (877)660-6400.
Additionally, the NDA urges members to monitor jobs for impacts and be prepared to make claims to owners and prime contractors as coronavirus and containment efforts spread. The association also advises employers to check the notice provisions and force majeure clauses of contracts and get input from in-house or outside counsel if there are concerns.
