The National Demolition Association’s (NDA) deadline for its 2017 NDA Awards and Scholarship is Friday, Nov. 4. The awards and scholarships will be presented at the organization’s Demolition 2017 event in Las Vegas Jan. 29-31.
The awards presented will be NDA’s Lifetime Achievement award and the Excellence in Demolition award.
NDA’s Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a member selected for their exceptional service to NDA and the industry. The award honors members for their leadership and commitment to NDA’s organizational vision and mission, and pays tribute to the individual’s commitment to the betterment of their community, the company they worked for and the demolition industry as a whole.
Any NDA member can be nominated for this award. If you know someone in the demolition field whom you feel is worthy of the Lifetime Achievement award based on the above criteria, fill out the application.
NDA's Excellence in Demolition Awards
Excellence in Demolition Awards are the industry’s recognition program which honors NDA members who have demonstrated significant environmental conservation and community involvement in 2016/2017. The awards are presented annually to companies that have made a significant "quality of life" impact on their community. NDA members are recognized for their leadership and innovation in “green” development and for efforts to better their local and regional environment.
Any public or private project is eligible to qualify. Projects are eligible even if environmental work is not their central mission. Applicants are encouraged to submit more than one project for consideration.
The scholarships are awarded to an owner, employee or an immediate family member of a Regular Member company of NDA and provide support in the advancement of their career through continuing education opportunities. The nine scholarships to be awarded to an applicant include:
- The Bill and Wanda Baker Scholarship
- The Mike and Nancy Taylor Scholarship
- The Patrick H. O’Rourke Scholarship
- The SA Recycling Scholarship
- The Southern California Chapter Scholarship
- The David P. Sinclair International Scholarship
- The John T. Adamo, Jr. Scholarship
