The Washington-based National Demolition Association (NDA) has announced the first 15 individuals to earn the new Certified Demolition Technician (CDT) certification.
The NDA’s CDT certification recognizes individuals who have demonstrated fundamental competence across all critical aspects of demolition, including safety, environmental best practices, operations and people management.
According to the NDA, the beta test of the CDT exam included participation from 23 individuals.
“The CDT is an excellent way to recognize your team, boost their confidence, provide them a career path and ensure your team members receive the recognition they deserve for their hard work,” says Tim Homrich, chair of the NDA certification board.
The individuals who have obtained certification include:
- Abdulrahman Alharbi, Homrich (Detroit)
- Gregory Butler, North American Dismantling Corp. (Lapeer, Michigan)
- Steven Lloyd Feick, Homrich
- Thomas Holcomb, North American Dismantling Corp.
- Lee Jackson, Homrich
- David Jacobs, Homrich
- Ross T. Joslin, Lindamood Demolition (Irving, Texas)
- Garrett Malady, North American Dismantling Corp.

“We are proud to recognize these individuals for their commitment to professional development,” NDA President Ben Hayden says. “To better serve our diverse workforce, our next testing window will now be available in Spanish, in addition to English. Offering a Spanish version allows all our demolition professionals—both men and women—to demonstrate the essential knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today’s demanding workplace.”
The NDA encourages demolition contractors to consider employee applications to take an upcoming exam. The next testing and application window is open through March 31, 2026.
