The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) has broken ground on its future headquarters in Alachua, Fla. NCCER plans to move into the new building in the fall of 2011.
Don Whyte, NCCER president, says, “This is truly a momentous occasion for our organization. Fifteen years ago, NCCER was just a dream and vision of many industry leaders. Today, we are one of the premier workforce development organizations for the construction industry.”
Whyte continues, “As we break ground today on our new building and permanent home, we look forward to a bright future filled with success, growth and an even greater level of service to the construction industry and the men and women who make it great.”
The 31,000-square-foot building will be designed to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) silver certification.
