The National Gypsum Co.’s Board of Directors has elected Thomas C. Nelson chairman of the company.
Nelson succeeds C.D. Spangler Jr., who will remain on the board as a director, according to a release from the company.
Nelson joined National Gypsum in 1995 as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He was elected vice chairman of the board in 1996 and president and CEO in 1999. He will retain his position as president and CEO while serving as chairman.
