The Washington-based National Demolition Association (NDA) says demolition company personnel planning to take the Certified Demolition Technician (CDT) or Certified Demolition Supervisor (CDS) certification exams in November must apply with the association by Friday, Oct. 10.
NDA says possession of a CDT certification “showcases your team’s expertise, validating their knowledge, real-world experience and technical proficiency.”
Continues the trade group, “Pursuing CDT certification strengthens project safety and efficiency while elevating team morale by recognizing the skill and dedication your workforce brings to every job.”
Company representatives who apply by the Oct. 10 deadline will be eligible to take the CDT and CDT exams during a window that runs from Nov. 3 to Nov. 17.
NDA says both the CDT and CDS certifications are designed to advance an individual’s career and highlight the professionalism of a company.
Regarding the value of certification, NDA says its tracking has found a 22 percent reduction in workplace accidents in certified management systems and 21 percent “more profits for companies who place a focus on safety [compared with] those who don't invest in safety.”
States NDA, “Pursuing CDT certification strengthens project safety and efficiency while elevating team morale by recognizing the skill and dedication your workforce brings to every job” while CDS certification “equips you with advanced skills while positioning your company as an industry leader, giving your team a competitive edge and greater visibility in the bidding process.”
Additional information on the CDT and CDS certification programs can be found on the NDA website.
