The Metropolitan Nashville, Tenn., Solid Waste Regional Board will be holding a public hearing on a proposed construction and demolition facility Nov. 29th. The Newsom Pointe Class Reclamation Project is a 10-year plant to use a rock quarry in Bellevue, TN as an end source for construction and demolition waste.
The C&D material to be deposited in the quarry will come from construction sites from a nearby development.
The project will accept only dry material such as rock, dirt, concrete and wood. Other materials will be extracted, and if possible, will be shipped off to be recycled.
The proposal has already been approved by the Metro Council, which adopted a resolution in June and recommended that the Metro Solid Waste Regional Board approve the project. In addition, Metro’s Board of Zoning Appeals gave its approval in August.
The company listed as the applicant is John I, LLC.
