The National Association Supply Cooperative (Nasco-Op), New Philadelphia, Ohio, has declared a 2 percent patronage dividend for 2004, according to manager Bob Bedard.
The dividend, calculated on the purchases members and associates made at the cooperative in 2004, further reduces the purchase price of supplies and equipment. Members of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) are Nasco-Op participants.
“In today’s increasingly competitive marketplace, the need for Nasco-Op is greater now than ever before”, says Bedard. “Cooperatives give members and users of all sizes the purchasing clout of an entire industry while still maintaining their independence. Just consider the negotiating leverage when members pool their purchases of one item, say shear knives, through Nasco-Op,” Bedard continues. “With the united needs of that size of a group, Nasco-Op members are in the position to accept only the best value from knife manufacturers.”
Nasco-Op is a purchasing cooperative available at no additional cost to members of ISRI, CARI (the Canadian Association of Recycling Industries) and the National Demolition Association.
Those seeking more information on Nasco-Op can contact the group at (800) 321-3396 or through its Web site at www.nascoop.com.
