The Ocean County, N.J., Solid Waste Advisory Council has voted unanimously with two abstentions to deny a company’s application to be included in the county’s solid waste plan, according to a report in the Asbury Park Press (Neptune, N.J.).
Shoreline Sand & Gravel LLC applied for inclusion in the plan in January 2004, a necessary first step before it sought a permanent recycling license for a proposed tree and asphalt recycling facility from the state Department of Environmental Protection, according to the report.
The company has been recycling material at its Barnegat, N.J., site for nine months under a temporary permit.
