Mustang Manufacturing Co., Owatonna, Minn., has announced the addition of a new feature to its 2109 skid steer—a 99-hp Cummins diesel engine. The Tier II emissions-certified engine offers 305 ft.-lbs. of torque, which is nearly 5 percent more than the previous 2109 engine, according to a press release from Mustang.
In addition to more torque, the Cummins B4.5T direct-inject engine offers easier access to important maintenance points, including the dipstick, oil fill and air cleaner. The conventional liquid-cooled design requires oil/filter changes at 500-hour intervals after the initial 50-hour service. Service on the Cummins engine is available through the Cummins engine support network.
