Multiquip, a Carson, Calif.-based manufacturer and supplier of industrial equipment, displayed EZ Grout’s Hog Crusher job-site material recycler at the World of Concrete event, Feb. 2-5, in Las Vegas. In March 2009, Waterford, Ohio-based EZ Grout selected Multiquip to be the exclusive distributor of its masonry and fence products in the United States and Mexico.
According to a Multiquip news release, the Hog Crusher is capable of pulverizing recyclable material in minutes, thus eliminating the need to have debris removed from construction job sites. The Hog Crusher is capable of recycling materials such as brick, block, stone, rock, asphalt and non-reinforced concrete. The Hog Crusher can reduce material down to 2 inches or smaller and can discharge up to 10 tons per hour, the company says.
“The product saves contractors both time and money by eliminating the need to rent a dumpster and wait for someone to remove the debris at an additional cost,” says Warren Faler, product manager, Multiquip. “Not only does the Hog Crusher provide an on-the-spot recycling center, but it is a much more affordable way to keep a job site cleaner, safer and environmentally friendly.”
According to the company, compared with the costs of renting containers and disposing of waste, the Hog Crusher is relatively inexpensive. “In this economy, these types of savings are critical in determining the right products and partners for our customers,” says Faler.
Featuring built-in forklift pockets, the Hog Crusher attaches to a skid-steer loader or forklift. The machine has a 0.5-yard capacity, a 24-inch crushing rotor and heavy steel plate construction. Additionally, the Hog Crusher uses replaceable carbide bits, a hardened breaker, as well as a cleaner and cheek plates for easy on-site maintenance.
