The Mount Group, a construction firm based in New Bern, N.J., has announced it has taken over ownership of its first material recycling facility (MRF). The plant, in Morrisville, Pa., will target a host of alternative materials, primarily from construction and demolition activities. Most of the material entering the MRF will be concrete and block. The company will perform crushing and screening of the material at the site.
The Class B recycling facility will provide material recycling services to Mount Group companies, as well as to other companies and contractors in the area.
Prior to opening the facility, Mount Group’s processing was limited to portable, on-site crushing of C&D material. A representative from the company says that a big advantage of the new facility is Mount Group’s ability to perform crushing and screening of C&D material it generates from its projects. Additionally, running the MRF will enable the company to take in material from other construction firms in the area. Further, the company will now have the ability to market the material to a wider range of end markets.
"The Mount Materials Recycling Facility really expands our ability to better serve our customers and provide them with more competitive pricing and further extends our corporate-wide commitment to green initiatives throughout the region," says Dave Smith, Mount Group’s CEO.
The facility will include a host of new, top-line equipment, including machines from Terex and Komatsu.
