In response to growing demand for renewable fuels including woody biomass, Morbark, Inc. announced several new product innovations for the energy market at the company’s third Demo Days event in Winn Mich. These innovations are aimed at helping biomass fuel suppliers streamline their processes and reduce costs.
The Morbark Model 23 Chiparvestor became the first drum chipper to be fitted with a new Morbark Integrated Control System. The Morbark ICS automatically monitors hydraulic pressures and RPM’s for increased output while maximizing fuel efficiency. The Morbark ICS enables the remote monitoring of the machine’s critical operating parameters on the internet and can send notifications of pre-assigned events to a cell phone or email address.
Morbark’s Model 40/36 biomass chipper released only one year ago, is now available in a track configuration to allow for greater mobility in the field and forest.
"Sales of the Morbark 40/36 chipper have exceeded our expectations because of its ability to fill a chip truck to the legal load limit in 15 – 20 minutes with excellent fuel efficiency" commented John Foote, V.P. Sales and Marketing. "Having the 40/36 available in a track model gives our customers more flexibility and saves them money."
In response to heavy demand in the biomass energy sector, Morbark has fitted its Beever M20R drum chipper with a hydraulic folding infeed deck with over 2-tons of hydraulic pulling force for more efficient loading to suit the needs of an entry level biomass chipping operation. With its new, powerful infeed system, the Beever M20R easily handles crotched branches, and bundles of smaller diameter wood. The hydraulic lift assist and constant hydraulic down pressure with 1450 pounds of combined crushing capability provide excellent material control for improved safety, better machine feeding, and reduced saw labor.
