Morbark Introduces Chippers

Company debuts whole tree chipper and compact disc chipper.

Morbark, Winn, Mich., has introduced two chippers to the market—the Model 40/36 Whole Tree Chipper and the Model 30 NCL.

The 40/36 Whole Tree Chipper is specifically geared to the biomass industry. Equipped with the same internal drive used on Morbark horizontal grinders, along with an extra wide feed opening, the Model 40/36 aggressively feeds bushy tops and limbs. At 8 feet, 6 inches wide, the unit is compact and easily transportable and requires no permits to move.

The 36-inch diameter by 40-inch wide drum holds eight knives in staggered configuration. Morbark’s IQAN system monitors engine parameters as well as hydraulic pressures and temperatures and also allows for utilization of remote diagnostics. Power options are available up to 700-hp. The package also comes with wireless remote control and four hydraulic stabilizers.

Morbark has also introduced the Model 30 NCL. Using the design of the 30 RXL Chiparvestor as its foundation, Morbark has eliminated the cab, loader and feed bed from the RXL, which results in a lighter, easy-to-transport chipper.

With no feed bed, smaller landings can be used, allowing the 30 NCL to maneuver into tight areas. The chipper has power choices up to 1,000-hp and an 83-inch disc with three or four knives.

The 30 NCL is designed for biomass producers, clean chip producers and large stemwood operations, among others.
