Mitchell Pace & Associates Launches Environmental Building Products Division

Mitchell Pace & Associates, a manufacturers’ representative company in the commercial and construction products industry based in Genesee Depot, Wis., has announced it is now providing sustainable and other green building products to contractors in Wisconsin and the Upper Midwest through a new division of the company.

The new division for the 69-year-old company is called Mitchell Pace Environmental and was created in response to the increasing interest in building products that are healthy alternatives and have minimal adverse impact on the Earth.

Safe Building Solutions has been handling environmentally friendly and healthy home building products for nearly 10 years through its Wisconsin retail outlet and national retail distribution business.

Mitchell Pace Environmental initially will offer EcoTimber flooring, IceStone surfaces and AFM Safecoat (AFM) paints, and is lining up a wide variety of other environmentally friendly commercial construction products.

EcoTimber, based in San Rafael, Calif., is a premier provider of hardwood and bamboo flooring created through sustainable harvesting and reclamation. The company, founded in 1992, specializes in wood products from forests that are certified well managed according to the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), as well as wood flooring alternatives such bamboo.

IceStone, based in Brooklyn, N.Y., manufacturers a range of products including countertops, slabs for wall coverings and flooring—all made from durable surface material such as recycled glass and concrete. IceStone engages in environmentally sophisticated manufacturing techniques such as day lighting and graywater recycling. Due to the VOC-free, high-recycled content and Cradle-to-Cradle certification, IceStone durable surfaces are ideal for projects seeking LEED certification.

AFM, based in San Diego, Calif., has been manufacturing its Safecoat line of products for the past 30 years. Its products are formulated without toxins and other health hazards found in traditional paints and finishes.
