A Kansas City, Mo.-based construction company has requested a special use permit to set up a concrete plant at a Kansas interchange construction site, according to a report in the Kansas City Star (Kansas City, Mo.).
Clarkson Construction Co. has requested to operate the plant in the improvement project on the Interstate 435 and U.S. 69 corridors.
The Planning Commission has voted to approve the permit. The issue is now before the Overland Park (Kansas) City Council, according to the report.
The Kansas Department of Transportation has contracted the company for improvements to the I-435 and U.S. 69 interchange, and addition projects on Antioch Road as well as a widening of I-435.
The project is scheduled to be completed in 2008.
