Mishawaka Concrete and Asphalt Recycling has applied for a renewal with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) of its Minor Source Operating Permit (MSOP) for its operation in Mishawaka, Indiana. The company’s permit was first issued on Nov. 21, 2006 by the IDEM’s Office of Air Quality.
This draft MSOP does not contain any new equipment that would emit air pollutants; however, some conditions from previously issued permits/approvals have been corrected, changed or removed. The corrections, changes and removals may include Title I changes such as changes that add or modify synthetic minor emission limits.
The facility consists of two crushers that are able to process 350 tons per hour of concrete, asphalt and stone; six conveyors; and a deck screener.
The IDEM has reviewed this application and has developed preliminary findings, consisting of a draft permit and several supporting documents, which would allow for the changes. The state agency is seeking any comments from the public before issuing the permit renewal.
A copy of the preliminary findings is available at www.in.gov/ai/appfiles/idem-caats.
