Minnesota C&D Landfill Seeks Permit Renewal

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) has announced that the owner of Hoss’ Demolition Landfill in Walker, Minn., has applied to renew the facility’s permit for an additional five years, according to a report in the Pilot-Independent (Walker, Minn.).

The site is an unlined construction and demolition debris landfill on 6.6 acres of land. According to the report, the first permit was issued in 1998 with a disposal capacity of 80,000 cubic yards on about three acres of the site.

If issued, the permit will allow the facility to continue to collect concrete, brick, bituminous concrete, untreated lumber, plywood, masonry, glass, insulation, tree stumps, rock, plastic, building materials and carpet.

If issued, the new permit will grant disposal of 93,000 cubic yards for the five-year permit term.
