Michigan Town Resists Concrete Crushing Operation

Plans for concrete crushing facility are under consideration in Chesterfield Township, Mich.

New Haven, Mich.-based Pamar Enterprises Inc. has applied for a permit to build a concrete crushing facility in Chesterfield Township, Mich., according to a report in the Macomb Daily (Mt. Clemens, Mich.).

The township Planning Commission will consider granting the special use permit to allow the company to build the facility on the 8.33-acre site.

Some residents and township officials have voiced opposition to the facility because it is located near an elementary school, according to the report. Opponents are concerned that dust or debris from crushing could pose a potential health hazard.
